Mallnitz high-altitude health spa and winter sports resort is located at an altitude of 1,200m, nestling amongst the wonderful mountains of the Hohe Tauern.

The Mallnitz and Tauern valleys carve through the Goldberg and Ankogel High-Alpine Groups. The municipality covers an area of around 110km2.

The constituent parts of the Municipality of Mallnitz are Mallnitz itself, Stappitz, Rabisch and Dösen.  Mallnitz is separated from Stappitz by the Mallnitz and Seebach streams.

Whereas Mallnitz is located on the right bank of both streams, Stappitz lies to the left.  Rabisch is located just where the Mallnitz valley slopes down into the Möll valley; and Dösen can be found on the broad slope of the Dösen valley.

Mallnitz is the highest altitude railway station on the Tauern route with direct connections to Germany.

All Intercity (IC) and Eurocity (EC) trains on this north/south line have a stop in Mallnitz!

If you arrive by airplane or train, different options are available to reach your destination, or you can rent a car to be mobile.

Airport shuttle

Our national park airport shuttle picks you up form the klagenfurt airport and takes you to your vacation destination in Mallnitz. The cost per adult is € 60 (return fare). From  the airports Laibach and Salzburg: one way € 40,- or € 80 return fare.

Children under 3 years of age are free and 1/2 price up to age 15.

The procedure is very easy:
Please contact your accommodation service in Mallnitz (or the Mallnitz visitor information at info@mallnitz.at) a few days before your scheduled arrival.
We only require your arrival and departure times and the respective flight numbers to order your shuttle. The bus transfer will be ordered via accommodation service
and your bus shuttle voucher will be completed and sent to you from there.
